The Florida Cultural Dance Festival is focused on joining diverse cultures and people through the celebration of dance. To increase cultural appreciation among the youth within the Central Florida area, the Florida Cultural Dance Festival will bring together education, instruction, and celebration of cultures from across the world.

The festival consists of six major events:

• Master Dance Classes
• Cultural Extravaganza Performance
• Journey to Africa
• Praise Dance Showcase

Dance students of all ages will be able to engage in two days of master dance workshops taught by instructors from around the country. Areas of dance and drum instruction will include African, Hispanic, Middle Eastern, and Asian drum. Celebrity instructors include Darrin Henson, renowned national actor and choreographer. Child dance classes are also available through the Journey to Africa: A Children’s Interactive Dance Workshop. This is a cultural dance program with opportunities for children to participate and explore their interests in African culture and dance.

Dance allows the opportunity for each of us to set aside differences and enjoy a shared interst. Teaching our children to relate and appreciate each other through common passions is an important part of increasing cultural awareness and understanding throughout the Central Florida community. The Florida Cultural Dance Festival is a great experience for all ages to learn, experience, and enjoy the uniqueness of cultures and dance from around the world!
